Best Christmas Adverts of 2017 – And It’s Not Who You Think!
Here at Thunderbolt Digital web design Surrey, we love everything about the festive season. Since making a Best Christmas Adverts list last year, we decided to keep the tradition going this year. So read on to find out our top picks for Christmas adverts of 2017!
Debenhams wowed us with their beautiful spectacle of a Christmas love story this year. Reminiscent of the fairytale Cinderella, the story tells of two strangers who catch each other’s eyes on the train before being separated and attempting to find each other again with only a shoe and modern technology to help them. The hashtags #FindThatShoe and #FindThatGirl added a contemporary twist on an old tale, and the cameo appearance by Ewan McGregor at the end, who also narrated throughout it, sealed the magical deal with this Christmas advert.
An advert that surprisingly tugged at our heartstrings here at Thunderbolt Digital web design Surrey, was Amazon’s singing boxes advert. So simple yet so effective, the advert features Amazon packages making their way to loved ones all over the world, singing “give a little bit of your love to me”, a gleeful tune that we are happy to have stay in our heads for a while. The advert is impossible not to smile (and sing) along with, and places Amazon firmly on the list of best Christmas adverts this year.
But the advert that takes the cake, and the marmalade this year is Marks and Spencer’s Paddington Bear advert. Released on #HugABearDay, Marks and Spencer did well to get us excited for the upcoming season with everybody’s favourite bear. The advert centred around Paddington’s misunderstanding of a burglar as Santa Clause and helps the thief return all the stolen gifts, ironically stealing our hearts in the process. The advert focused on the key theme that Christmas is about giving, so we give this advert our stamp of approval.
