Three Tips to Help You Improve Your Instagram Profile
With over 800 million users worldwide, Instagram is one of the largest social media platforms around. Over 80% of those accounts follow and interact with at least one business profile. As a digital agency Surrey, we understand the importance of using an Instagram account to promote your company and it’s products and services.
From sharing photos to live videos, Instagram offers a variety of ways to boost your online presence. While it’s beneficial to attract a wider audience, it is important that it is done correctly. This blog will discuss three tips to improve your Instagram profile.
#Hashtags
Like Twitter and Facebook, hashtags can be added to posts on Instagram to help users discover your page and content. Not only that but users can now follow hashtags so that any post with it will appear on their feed. You can create your own hashtag that is specific to your advertising campaign or use a popular hashtag such as #tbt (Throwback Thursday) or #happy. You can design your content to fit these hashtags, even if you’re a digital agency Surrey. Just remember, just because you can add up to 30 to a post doesn’t necessarily mean you should; an overload of hashtags can appear spammy.
Videos and Instagram Stories
Over the past couple of years, Instagram has been developing their app further. What used to be a platform devoted (and restricted) only to pictures now supports videos and live streams. Videos are a great way to interact with your followers as they allow your product/service to be put in the limelight and tell a story.
Instagram Stories are a relatively new feature, which allows followers to see your daily activities. This allows you to post photos and videos that will disappear after 24 hours (similar to Snapchat) and won’t appear on your profile or feed. You can even bring out your creative side by adding text or drawing tools.
Interact with your followers
Most social media platforms, including Instagram, are interactive. Make sure your followers know that you are thinking of them by liking their photos, responding to comments on your posts and mentioning followers. Engaging with your followers shows how much you value them and encourages repeat purchases and the like.. This becomes even more important if a follower posts a picture with your product as with their permission you can repost it on your profile.
