I recently started Thunderbolt Digital, a digital agency Surrey based company, specifically formed to help small to medium enterprises (SME’s). I have a couple of search experts in my team – however I wanted to practice what I preached to the SME sector and decided not ask my Search Engine Marketing experts to do any on or off-page optimisation for the first month.
I did get my Head of Words to open the usual social media channels Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter etc. I then focused on specific key phrases such as “Digital Agency” and location “Farnham Surrey”, and started blogging once or twice a week with what I think was useful online information to see where this would get me.
I don’t profess to be a SEM expert, I leave this “dark art” to my team; however I just wanted to try and see if content would weigh my search position and push us up to page 4 if we were lucky in a month. Well I’m pleasantly surprised to say that “Digital Agency Farnham Surrey” is on page 1. This small article just goes to prove that content now is more important than ever in helping to push you up in the natural search terms.
