What’s Happening In 2017?

Laptop And Phone Web Design Surrey

Here at Thunderbolt Digital web design Surrey, we like to keep up to date with web trends, past present and future. 2017 is going to be an exciting year for all things technology, and we have some ideas about what’s going to stay the same and what’s going to change.

Mobile phones are an area of technology that is developing extremely fast. In just 15 years, we’ve gone from flip phones to curved screens. Over the years, more and more people have been browsing the internet using their mobile phones, and desktops are fast becoming redundant as a research tool. Web design Surrey is for ease of access to mobile phones, not computer screens. In 2017, it is most likely that mobiles will continue in this trend, and exceed desktop usage in ways never seen before.

Despite the hype, virtual reality is not destined to take over our everyday lives. It is simply too impractical and immersive to use day to day. It is, however, revolutionising the gaming industry. Oculus Rift and Sony PlayStation are competing for the business of millions of gamers, essentially boiling it down to the age old rivalry of console vs PC gaming. The success of VR in this industry makes it a soon to be niche technology, and we don’t have to worry about it taking over our lives.

Virtual reality and augmented reality are very different. Virtual reality is a completely immersive experience, placing you in a fictional world with the use of a headset. The key problem being you are effectively blindfolded. Augmented reality incorporates your surroundings; you can see and interact with the virtual elements as well as being fully aware of your surroundings. Augmented reality has the capacity to transform our entertainment, work and home lives. The potential for augmented reality is best illustrated in this video.
