Nettles and Petals Design is an award-winning landscape garden design business in Farnham, Surrey. When owner Liz Frost began her garden design practice six years ago, she worked with a web developer to build her initial website.
Liz explains that while the initial website worked well at the start of her business it had increasing security issues. “It was a dire situation that got worse over the last six to nine months. The site was hacked constantly and we had to keep changing our passwords.
“The format of our website CMS changed and we didn’t know how to update it, which meant that we couldn’t easily put new content on the site.
“The business has grown and it is very important that I have now, more than ever, a professional and reliable website for prospective clients.”
Liz says, “I knew we needed a new website. We had previously contacted Thunderbolt Digital a few years ago, but we didn’t have the finances at that time to pursue our website project. I went into the office and met Saybhan and the team and was really impressed with their agency.
“After comparing Thunderbolt to other companies, I chose them because I was fairly confident in their approach and the quote they gave me was reasonable.
“Additionally, as Nettles and Petals Design is a Farnham business, I was keen to use a local business. Thunderbolt is a Farnham-based agency. When we’re back in the office, working with a local agency will make it easy to approach and talk to them. It was great to discover that my accountant also works in the same building as Thunderbolt!”
“We used a template design to keep website build costs down. Throughout the process, Thunderbolt had excellent communication with me, with really prompt replies. Their approach meant it was very straightforward and easy to deal with the agency.
“Thunderbolt’s designer, James, proposed a couple of options, one of which I was drawn to. He was super detailed and we did a lot of tweaking to get the design how I wanted it. The final design is a stylish, modern, clean design, with lots of visuals for prospective clients.”
Building the site in-house means that Liz has support from Thunderbolt’s expertise at every step of the website development. She says, “The site has gone live and looks fantastic. I have had lessons from Josh, in the development team, who showed me how to use the CMS and upload content.”
